RS Tool & Design
We design and build semi-automated equipment. We have specialized in integrating people with equipment to improve production rates, improve line balance, decrease repetitive motion injuries, and adapt processes for cell manufacturing.
We currently employ designers, machinists, technicians, and office support personnel. Our air-conditioned 18,000 sq. ft. shop allows an efficient build from conception to run-off. All design is done in-house, both mechanical and electrical. This insures you, our customer, will receive a tool that can handle the grueling repetitive treatment of the manufacturing environment. We pride ourselves in our variety of industries and operations.
We are very sensitive to your special needs. We gladly comply with your preferred vendors list, fabrication specifications, documentation needs, and runoff requirements. We always attempt to pull your knowledge and experience into the designs as well as incorporating our accumulated technologies that cover a wide variety of industries and operations.
Our capable electronics staff incorporates the PLC of your choice as well as diverse sensing needs and data acquisition requirements. We have experience with a wide variety of sensors: hall, inductance, capacitance, ultra-sonic, laser, and color. We design many systems utilizing servo or stepper motors, LVDTs, torque transducers, load cells, encoders, etc. The end result is a tool with the greatest opportunity for zero defects.
A project Manager who works as an engineering liaison spearheads each job. He will be responsible for all communications, engineering changes, and specification compliance. Inside we assign a cell leader for each job. The cell leader is a senior toolmaker on the floor responsible for continuity, final debugging, and any service work for your project. The engineer assigned to the project will not only design the tool but also provide technical assistance to the floor and to your project. He can also email to you electronic photographs showing weekly progress of the project. This has proven to reduce your need for excessive travel to our shop, saving you time and money.
